I graduated summa cum laude from Texas State University with a bachelor's degree in music education. While an undergraduate student, I studied cello with Dr. Karla Hamelin and pedagogy with Dr. Rebecca Tast. As a college student, I performed with the Texas State Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Carolyn Watson. I spent three years teaching in the Texas State String Project as the K-2 Cello instructor and Beginning Orchestra Instructor. During summers, I worked as the head counselor of the Texas State String Camp and studied the Suzuki method with Alice Ann O'Neill. I have actively taught private cello, violin, and viola lessons for four years in San Antonio, San Marcos, and Austin.
This will be my second year directing the orchestras at Tejeda Middle School and I feel excited and grateful to become a part of such an amazing program.
Professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), Texas Orchestra Directors Association (TODA), Suzuki Association of the America (SAA) and American String Teachers Association (ASTA).
